Insulation, heating and the optional extras

Eco Modular Homes

An eco modular home UK buyers can verify rather than take on trust: non-combustible basalt wool insulation in four published thicknesses, an air-source heat pump inside the Turnkey base scope, and solar, MVHR and underfloor heating as named upgrades. Every figure on this page comes from the published specification, so the energy efficient prefab claim can be checked line by line.

Sustainable modular homes start with the envelope

For sustainable modular homes the envelope comes first. Non-combustible to Class A1, from 100 mm up to 200 mm within the frame plus a 50 mm counter-insulated layer that breaks the thermal bridge through the studs. A breather membrane outside the insulation and a vapour control membrane inside it, so the build-up manages moisture in both directions across the life of the building.

100 mm

External wall insulation: 100 mm

Our standard envelope, suited to garden rooms, studios and seasonal or holiday use.

150 mm

External wall insulation: 150 mm

A step up in thermal performance, appropriate for year-round occupation in the UK climate.

200 mm

External wall insulation: 200 mm

A deeper frame and insulation layer for permanent homes where running costs matter most.

250 mm

External wall insulation: 50 mm + 200 mm

Our warmest specification: 200 mm within the frame plus a 50 mm counter-insulated layer that breaks the thermal bridge through the studs.

Every element at every thickness is on the technology page.

The heat pump is in the Turnkey base scope

Everything in Option 2, plus helical ground screw foundation, floor panels, plasterboard tape-and-joint and paint, LVT flooring, one standard bathroom, internal doors, staircase where applicable, basic electrics, plumbing and air-source heat pump, compliance, testing and handover. Kitchen, underfloor heating, MVHR, PV and upgraded finishes priced separately.

Full prices for every model and option are in the price guide.

Energy efficient prefab extras: the comfort and energy upgrades

  • Underfloor heating
  • MVHR ventilation
  • Solar PV + battery
  • Extended warranty

Quoted per project. Kitchen, underfloor heating, MVHR, PV and upgraded finishes are priced separately.

Eco modular home UK buyers can check: less waste from the factory

Factory-controlled manufacture reduces waste, improves quality and shortens on-site programmes, and the controlled production environment reduces weather dependency. Panels arrive with insulation, sheathing, membranes and cladding already in place.

Designed for year-round use

All Trident buildings are designed for year-round use with full insulation, heating and ventilation, and to meet or exceed current Part L requirements. The 150 mm specification is the one we describe as appropriate for year-round occupation in the UK climate.

Common questions

Are your buildings energy efficient?

Yes. All buildings are designed to meet or exceed current Part L requirements. We offer a range of sustainable upgrades including air-source heat pumps, solar panels, green roofs, MVHR ventilation and underfloor heating.

Can I add a green roof or solar panels?

Both are available as optional upgrades. Green roofs can be specified on flat-roof sections. Solar photovoltaic panels can be integrated into the roof structure. Both are available for most standard models.

Are your buildings suitable for year-round use?

Yes. All Trident buildings are designed for year-round use with full insulation, heating and ventilation. Garden rooms are equally suitable as permanent workspaces or annexes.

How do I get a price?

You can request a quotation through our contact page or by telephone. Catalogue prices shown are starting figures as actual costs depend on your specification, site conditions and the chosen completion option.
